I’m Andrea Gietzel-Tierney, Proprietor, Psychologist and Counsellor and this is a service for those seeking therapeutic support with day-to-day challenges, mental and physical health issues. It is a service with a strong focus on addressing those issues that contribute to compromised mental and physical well-being, including, but not limited to: Depression; Anxiety and Panic; Stress; Trauma; Grief and Loss; Low Self-Esteem; Poor Self-Identity; Life Transition and Adjustment Difficulties; Interpersonal/Relational Difficulties and Work-Related Issues.

At Red Lotus Psychology, I focus on providing compassionate, evidence-based interventions to individuals with respect, acceptance, warmth and kindness and working with you to meet your needs.

Why the name, Red Lotus Psychology

In some cultures, the lotus is considered a sacred flower because of its capacity to blossom in muddy, murky water and to grow into a stunningly unique flower. Since it can transform so beautifully in what might be considered woeful conditions, it is believed to signify purity, new beginnings, enlightenment, self-regeneration, resilience and strength. It is believed to be a symbol of hope and inspiration and to remind us that we too have these same qualities and the same capacity to rise above our darkest challenges and to blossom and bloom in the face of them.

Each colour of lotus flower is also considered to carry its own individual symbolism and meaning, and the red lotus flower is considered to symbolise our heart, compassion, sympathy and passion.

At Red Lotus Psychology, the red lotus is seen as a symbol of hope and inspiration and to remind us that we can help to heal and expand our heart through being compassionate and sympathetic to ourselves and others, and we can grow from our challenges and live a rich life with meaning and passion despite them and because of them.
